In a rather surprising announcement, Casey Stoner has announced his retirement in MotoGP at the end of the 2012 season.
Casey Stoner states that things have changed over the years and he no longer has the passion to race for MotoGP. It sounds like some of the issues that Stoner has is from a decrease in funding from manufactures and possibly with the introduction of the CRT bikes in the race.
Casey Stoner has also recently become a father and the changes that brings to a person and a racer may also have an influence.
I am saddened to hear that a premier rider, such as Casey Stoner, will no longer be pushing the boundaries of MotoGP.
