Today’s MotoGP race at Qatar was the first race of the 2010 season. It also was the first day that I was able to watch the race in HD using the motogp.com website via their paid subscription! The cost was not cheap but I purchased a season pass with HD. I setup the race on my LCD TV with an HDMI output for video and optic out for audio to my sound system. After seeing the HD quality, the commercial free racing, and the post race interviews, I can definitely say that it’s worth every penny!

Today’s race was very exciting! Stoner took the lead early on but crashed out of the race allowing Rossi to take control and ultimately the victory. The US Nicky Hayden gave everyone a surprise getting out early to 2nd place. However, Jorge Lorenzo finished second and Andrea Dovizioso snuck by Hayden on the final stretch to the finish line crossing 0.11 seconds in front of Hayden. The US Ben Spies finished a strong fifth place, which was the best placing of all rookies this year.
